Denver Portrait Photographer – Lifestyle Photography
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family for many years. From the newborn stage, toddler stage, and totally having a blast stage– it’s so much fun to see and photograph kids as they grow through life. I headed just outside of Denver to pay a visit to my old friends and get some updated lifestyle photos for the family. With no set agenda, I just make myself at home and have fun with the children and what comes out is them just being themselves. It allows for fun, creative, spontaneous pictures. Ones that parents and even the kids, when they get older, will really cherish for a lifetime. We got some fantastic portraits, but we also just documented having fun, creating art, jumping around on the bed, and playing out in the beautiful Fall of Colorado. If you haven’t had this kind of lifestyle photography session or if it’s just been a while–as you know, time flies–so schedule a session now!

Outdoor Family Photos
For some fun outdoor family photos in Denver I went to the park to meet Shannon, Steve, and Sawyer. It was a beautiful early Fall day before the cold snap that put an end to any chance of Colorado’s typically colorful Autumn leaves. We all had a great time on the playground, throwing a baseball and a football, and doing Sawyer and his Dad’s favorite thing to do together– fishing! What a wonderful family. I really had an enjoyable time with the three of them and getting the chance to photograph them and provide them with family portraits they can cherish for the rest of their lives. Business Headshots
A Colorado area executive, Robert, came to the studio to do some business headshots. While we were at it, we also did some more casual photos. We also did some with his pet- a beautiful golden retriever dog. Along with being a business executive, he trains dogs. Added to that he is also a volunteer firefighter in the Denver area. He brought his fireman uniform, so we did some photographs with him all geared up. I liked the idea of adding some red lighting to mimic the idea of fire, which I think added a nice mood. Lifestyle Photography
When I do couples photography it’s usually for a wedding, engagement session, or maternity session. But sometimes I’ll photograph more as a lifestyle photographer and simply capture the couple just as they are. These Colorado natives (a rare thing these days) hadn’t had portraits done since their wedding, so they asked me to so in my Denver studio. It was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde portrait session. The first half was more traditional posing of the loving couple– innocent, fun, both with religious crosses around their necks. And then the second half was clearly marked when he changed outfits (gold teeth, rings, and all) to put on a more dramatic urban look and feel. Their whole demeanor changed to a more tough hip-hop attitude. As a professional photographer I’m always trying to bring out the personality of the people I photograph, so I completely went with it to enhance the whole look. I got some more dramtic lighting set up in my studio and even went with a matching color scheme- adding some red to my background light. He also wanted some shots by himself. I don’t know what he wanted to do with his individual photograph, but I think it would make a great album cover to his debut hip-hop record. I think they all turned out great and had a lot of fun with it.
